1A lot more weapon variety along with different attack types

:Every melee weapon in Oblivion and Skyrim is either a swing or a slash.. which is pretty odd and makes absolutely no sense given the nature of the world.

Many types of swords,spears,axes,pikes and daggers exist.. one type of sword is meant for piercing or thrusting.. another can be used to crush foes..another can be for slashing. Long range melee weapons don't even exist.. I don't remember using a spear for melee confrontations or a pike.

While Morrowind had really bad vanilla combatat least weapon types and attacks existed. Overall weapon variety also needs to improve. Have combat be faster and more deadly:Melee combat has always felt like giant meat people slamming into other meat people. If there skin or body parts revealed..it shouldn't take more than a few hits to kill somebody. If you slash or stab somebody in the neck or head..that should be a instant kill. If a enemy slashes you in the neck or head..that should be a instant kill. Encumbrance should affect how much stamina drains versus encumbrance affecting speed. Armor types and armor in general should affect speed. Armor should also have its own hitbox and damage reduction area/box..open flesh should be open flesh.

Potions should have to be equipped to use and mapped to a button.. they shouldn't be mapped to be instantly used nor should the player be able to enter a menu and down 30 potions instantaneously during a battle. Spell casting would be affected greatly by this..instead of spamming a bunch of attacks.. you would have to plan ahead and decide which spells to use for different situations.Bring back point allocation with attributes and skills:Probably not going to happen but it would be nice if it did.

Character building is arguably the best part of many RPG's simple risk and reward. You can have some attributes be stacked...while others don't have any development. It's also more satisfying to discover a really good character build that suits your own playstyle.

Survival:Have hunger and other things exist.. makes the game more fun for a lot of people.There are a lot of mods that do these sort of things..but for a vanilla experience I'd want what I typed above to be in the next Elder Scrolls.
